Average DVC Resale Prices Overview

Disney Vacation Club Resort

Understanding average DVC resale prices helps buyers and sellers set realistic expectations when entering the market. Prices vary by resort, reflecting factors including location desirability, remaining contract years, and overall demand. This guide provides typical pricing ranges to help you evaluate listings and plan your DVC purchase or sale strategy effectively for success.

Budget-Friendly Resort Options

Old Key West and Saratoga Springs consistently offer the most affordable DVC resale options in the current market. Old Key West contracts typically trade between $105 and $115 per point, providing excellent value for budget-conscious buyers seeking maximum points. Saratoga Springs falls in a similar range, generally $100-$120 per point depending on specific contract characteristics and market timing.

These resorts appeal to buyers prioritizing point quantity over premium locations. Both properties offer quality DVC accommodations and full membership benefits while enabling larger point purchases within limited budgets. The savings compared to premium resorts can be substantial on larger contracts seeking value.

Mid-Range Resort Pricing

Animal Kingdom Lodge and Boulder Ridge at Wilderness Lodge typically trade between $125 and $140 per point. These resorts offer distinctive theming and amenities at moderate price points that balance cost with experience quality. Animal Kingdom Lodge provides unique animal viewing experiences while Boulder Ridge offers rustic elegance near Magic Kingdom.

Copper Creek Villas at Wilderness Lodge falls in the $130-$145 range, offering newer accommodations with contemporary finishes. These mid-range options balance quality and value for buyers seeking more than basic accommodations without paying premium resort prices for top-tier locations.

Premium Resort Pricing

Beach Club commands premium pricing due to its exceptional Epcot-area location, typically $135-$160 per point. BoardWalk Villas offers similar location benefits at comparable rates. Both resorts provide walking access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, justifying higher pricing for buyers valuing convenience and theme park proximity.

Bay Lake Tower and Polynesian Villas represent top-tier pricing in the DVC resale market, often $140-$175 per point. These Magic Kingdom area resorts offer monorail access and prime locations that command premium valuations from buyers willing to pay more for enhanced vacation experiences and convenience.

Factors Affecting Individual Prices

While averages provide useful benchmarks, individual contract prices vary based on specific characteristics. Contract size, use year timing, included points, and seller motivation all influence asking prices substantially. Two contracts at the same resort may have meaningfully different pricing based on these variables.

Point status significantly impacts value. Contracts with substantial banked points or fully loaded current year allocations command premiums over stripped contracts. Calculate the effective per-point cost considering all included points when comparing otherwise similar listings.

Right of First Refusal (ROFR)

One critical aspect to consider in the DVC resale market is Disney's Right of First Refusal (ROFR). Disney reserves the right to purchase any resale contract at the agreed-upon price before it is sold to a third party. If a contract is priced significantly below market averages, Disney may exercise this right, which could impact your transaction. Understanding ROFR can help you strategize your offer and avoid potential pitfalls.

Using Average Prices

Reference these average ranges when evaluating specific listings. Contracts priced significantly below averages may face higher ROFR risk from Disney exercising their purchase right. Contracts priced well above averages may struggle to attract buyer interest unless unique features justify premium pricing above market rates.

Market conditions fluctuate, so verify current pricing by reviewing active listings across multiple brokers. Average prices shift over time based on supply, demand, and broader economic factors affecting the market. Understanding current market rates helps you make informed decisions whether buying or selling DVC resale contracts.

Market Trends and Economic Factors

Economic conditions, such as interest rates and consumer confidence, can influence DVC resale prices. During economic downturns, prices may soften as fewer buyers enter the market. Conversely, strong economic conditions can drive demand and increase prices. Staying informed about broader economic trends can provide additional context when analyzing DVC resale market conditions.

Getting Accurate Market Data

Work with established resale brokers who track recent sales data for accurate market intelligence. Their experience with completed transactions provides insights beyond listing prices alone. Understanding what contracts actually sell for, not just what they list for, helps set realistic expectations for your transaction and negotiation strategy.

  • Consult multiple sources to get a comprehensive view of the market.
  • Consider working with a DVC resale specialist who can provide tailored advice.
  • Keep an eye on forums and communities where DVC members discuss recent sales and experiences.

By leveraging these resources, you can gain a deeper understanding of the DVC resale market and make more informed decisions.

Mitzi and I couldn't have had a more positive experience as the one which we had, in selling some of our DVC points through DVC Sales with Mark and Lori Webb. and their staff. The whole process was transparent, seamless and we were being fully briefed as to the. progress. Thanks to Mark we were kept aware as to what was happening with the listing, with the ROFR bu Disney, and with the closing process completed, all in a short months' time. We couldn't have asked for a better group than DVC Sales for the sale. they were honest . amd truly caring on our behalf. Mitzi and Lee Tucholski

Just sold some of my points and Mark and Lori were wonderful. I’m very, very happy with the experience. I got an excellent price and now someone else gets to enjoy just a bit more of DVC. The website is great to work with too. I will always use DVC Sales and encourage you to do the same.

Foreign sellers, beware; they will not provide correct information to you about what you can expect when selling. They also, at the end of the process, hit you with fees you did not expect, and you are too late to do anything about it.

I could not imagine being happier with my experience using DVC Sales to sell our Old Key West membership. We enjoyed so many years of Disney vacations. While on your website I started a chat that turned into a call with Lori. She took the time to explain how the website works. Within a few minutes I had created my account and listed my membership for sale. Within 3-4 weeks we received an offer and sold our membership. Thankyou Lori and DVC Sales!

Mark, today we have just received the last check for our 4th contract you sold for us. Our experience was outstanding you deserve the acknowledgement for your service. You remind me of the way customers were treated years ago. Everybody we spoke with or chatted online was friendly and helpful. Although the process took a few months, it was worth the wait. We hope the families who purchased on contracts have as much enjoyment as we have had. If anyone is looking to buy or sell a DVC membership you can use our name. Thank you again!
