Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge: Quick Facts
Copper Creek Annual Dues (2026)
Copper Creek annual dues cover the resort's portion of Wilderness Lodge maintenance, landscaping, property taxes, insurance, and shared amenities. As a resort that opened in 2017, Copper Creek is still relatively new, which means the buildings and infrastructure have not yet needed major renovation work. That newer construction translates to competitive dues for a deluxe-tier resort with boat access to Magic Kingdom. Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge share certain facility costs, and the combined cost structure benefits both sections.
| Contract Size | Per-Point Dues | Annual Total |
|---|---|---|
| 100 Points | $9.02 | $902 |
| 150 Points | $9.02 | $1,353 |
| 200 Points | $9.02 | $1,804 |
Dues are billed annually by Disney and are subject to change each year. The figures above reflect the 2026 assessment.
Location & Transportation
Copper Creek is located within Disney's Wilderness Lodge on the shores of Bay Lake, directly across the water from Magic Kingdom. The resort occupies the newer wing of Wilderness Lodge and also includes the standalone Cascade Cabins along the waterfront. The entire complex is surrounded by dense pine forest and designed to evoke the great national park lodges of the American Northwest.
Boat Service: The Wilderness Lodge boat dock serves both Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge guests. Ferries run to Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary Resort throughout the day, departing approximately every 20 minutes. The ride to Magic Kingdom takes about 10 minutes and is one of the most scenic commutes at Walt Disney World. You can see the castle and Space Mountain from the boat as you approach.
Bus Service: Complimentary buses connect Wilderness Lodge to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and both water parks. The bus stop is located at the front of the resort near the main entrance. Because Wilderness Lodge is a compact resort (unlike sprawling properties like Saratoga Springs), there is only one bus stop, which means faster loading and departure times.
Cascade Cabin Access: The Cascade Cabins sit along the waterfront between the main lodge and Fort Wilderness. Cabin guests can walk to the main lodge in about 5 to 8 minutes via a paved path, or they can use a dedicated golf cart service that runs between the cabins and the lobby.
Walking & Biking: A paved nature trail connects Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground (about 1 mile). Bike rentals are available, and the trail passes through forested areas along Bay Lake. You can also access the boat from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom as an alternative route.
Copper Creek DVC Room Types
Copper Creek is one of the most versatile DVC resorts when it comes to room options. It offers five distinct accommodation types, from compact studios to standalone waterfront cabins, giving buyers flexibility to match their vacation style with the right room category.
Deluxe Studios (340 sq ft, sleeps 4): Each studio features a queen bed, a pull-down single bed (Murphy bed style), a sleeper sofa, and a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. The design uses warm copper accents, natural wood tones, and stone-inspired textures that tie into the lodge aesthetic. Studios include a split bathroom with a separate vanity area.
One-Bedroom Villas (690 sq ft, sleeps 4-5): A master bedroom with a king bed, a living area with a queen sleeper sofa, a full kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub. One-bedrooms also include a private balcony or patio.
Two-Bedroom Villas (1,080 sq ft, sleeps 8-9): These combine the one-bedroom layout with an adjoining studio, giving you two bathrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and dedicated space for larger groups. The second bedroom typically has a queen bed plus a sleeper sofa.
Grand Villas (2,049 sq ft, sleeps 12): Three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a full kitchen, a dining area that seats 8, and a spacious living room. Grand Villas at Copper Creek are on the upper floors and offer views of Bay Lake or the surrounding forest. These require a large number of points and are best suited for multi-generational family trips or group vacations.
Cascade Cabins (2-bedroom, sleeps 8): These are the crown jewel of Copper Creek. Each cabin is a standalone waterfront unit on Bay Lake with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a screened-in porch, a private outdoor deck, and a hot tub. Cabins are approximately 1,600 square feet of indoor space plus the outdoor living areas. They offer a completely private vacation experience that feels nothing like a hotel. Cascade Cabins require the most points of any DVC accommodation, and during peak season, a single week can cost 300 to 400+ points.

Recreation & Amenities at Copper Creek
Copper Creek guests enjoy full access to all Wilderness Lodge amenities, shared with Boulder Ridge. The resort's common spaces are anchored by the iconic six-story lobby with its 82-foot stone fireplace, exposed timber beams, and Native American-inspired artwork. The lobby is one of the most photographed spaces at Walt Disney World and sets the tone for the entire resort experience.
Copper Creek Springs Pool: The main pool is designed to look like a natural hot spring emerging from the rocky landscape. It features a zero-entry gradual slope on one side, a 67-foot waterslide built into the boulders, a children's splash area, and two hot tubs. The pool area is surrounded by mature pines and themed rock formations, giving it a genuine wilderness atmosphere. Pool towels, loungers, and poolside beverage service are complimentary.
Boulder Ridge Cove Pool: A smaller, quieter pool available to all Wilderness Lodge guests. This is the preferred option for couples and adults who want a calmer swim without the water slide and kids' activities at the main pool.
Whispering Canyon Cafe: The resort's signature family-style restaurant where servers encourage playful chaos and the all-you-can-eat Skillets are legendary. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served, and the atmosphere is lively. This is one of the most popular character-free dining experiences at Walt Disney World.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill: An open-air waterfront restaurant on Bay Lake that serves craft cocktails, smoked meats, artisan flatbreads, and seasonal entrees. The views of Bay Lake at sunset are outstanding, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a go-to spot for couples and families alike. Walk-up seating is available, but reservations are recommended for dinner.
Storybook Dining at Artist Point: A character dining experience featuring Snow White, the Evil Queen, Dopey, and Grumpy in a refined Pacific Northwest setting. The multi-course prix fixe meal includes dishes like the Hunter's Pie and the Poison Apple dessert. Reservations are essential and often book up 60 days in advance.
Fire Rock Geyser: The resort's man-made geyser erupts on the hour from morning through evening, shooting water approximately 120 feet into the air. It is modeled after Old Faithful at Yellowstone and is a signature feature of the resort.
Marina, Bike Rentals & Nature Trail: Wilderness Lodge has a marina where you can rent kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. Bike rentals are available for the paved trail that connects to Fort Wilderness (about 1 mile). The trail runs through pine forest along Bay Lake and is popular for morning jogs and afternoon rides.
Frequently Asked Questions: Copper Creek DVC
What are Copper Creek Cascade Cabins?
Cascade Cabins are standalone two-bedroom waterfront units on Bay Lake. Each cabin is approximately 1,600 square feet of indoor living space with a private outdoor deck, screened-in porch, hot tub, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and two full bathrooms. They sleep up to 8 guests and offer a completely private vacation experience on the water. During peak season, a week in a Cascade Cabin costs 300 to 400+ points, making them the most point-intensive accommodation in the entire DVC system.
Is Copper Creek better than Boulder Ridge?
It depends on your priorities and budget. Copper Creek offers five room types (studios through Grand Villas plus Cascade Cabins) and a contract that runs until 2068, giving you over 42 years of remaining use. Boulder Ridge offers studios only with a 2042 expiration but costs $80 to $100 per point compared to Copper Creek's $130 to $155. Both share all Wilderness Lodge amenities, restaurants, and transportation. If you need larger rooms or want a longer ownership term, Copper Creek is the better fit. If you primarily book studios and want to minimize upfront cost, Boulder Ridge is the smarter buy.
When does Copper Creek expire?
Copper Creek contracts expire on January 31, 2068. That is one of the longest remaining terms in the DVC system, with over 42 years of use from 2026. The long contract term is a significant selling point for families buying DVC for younger children or for buyers who want to maximize the total value of their investment over decades of vacations.
How many points do I need for a Cascade Cabin?
Cascade Cabins are the most point-intensive rooms in DVC. During the Adventure season (value dates), a cabin costs around 36 points per night. During the Dream season (peak dates like Christmas week), that jumps to about 60 points per night. A full week during the Choice season (moderate) runs approximately 280 to 315 points. Most cabin owners buy large contracts of 250+ points or combine points from multiple contracts to afford cabin stays.
Does Disney exercise ROFR on Copper Creek?
Yes. Disney exercises Right of First Refusal on Copper Creek more frequently than on older, lower-priced resorts. Because Copper Creek has a long contract term and strong demand, Disney has an incentive to repurchase contracts at below-market prices and resell them at direct-purchase rates. Contracts priced below $125 per point have a higher chance of being taken by Disney. Pricing in the $135 to $155 range typically passes ROFR. Our brokerage monitors ROFR activity closely and can help you price your offer competitively while minimizing the risk of Disney exercising their right.
What is the difference between Copper Creek studios and one-bedrooms?
Studios are 340 square feet with a kitchenette (mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker) and sleep 4 guests. One-bedrooms are 690 square feet with a separate master bedroom, a full kitchen with full-size appliances, a washer/dryer, and a private balcony. One-bedrooms sleep 4 to 5 guests. The jump from studio to one-bedroom roughly doubles your nightly point cost but also doubles your living space and adds a full kitchen, which many families consider essential for trips longer than 3 or 4 nights.
Can I rent out my Copper Creek points?
Yes. DVC owners can rent their points to non-members, and Copper Creek points tend to rent at a premium because of the resort's popularity and long contract term. Rental rates typically range from $18 to $22 per point, depending on the season and how far in advance the booking is made. Renting points in years when you cannot travel is a common strategy to offset annual dues. Our brokerage can help connect you with the DVC rental market if needed.
What views are available at Copper Creek?
Copper Creek villas offer two main view categories: Standard View and Nature/Lake View. Standard View rooms look out over parking areas, rooftops, or interior courtyard spaces. Nature and Lake View rooms face the forest, Bay Lake, or the resort's natural landscape. Lake-facing rooms on higher floors can see Magic Kingdom fireworks at night. View category does not affect point cost at Copper Creek the way it does at some other DVC resorts.
Is Copper Creek a good long-term investment?
Copper Creek is one of the strongest long-term values in DVC resale. The 2068 expiration means you are buying 42+ years of vacations. At $140 per point for a 150-point contract, your upfront cost is $21,000 plus closing costs and the $500 Disney administration fee. Spread over 42 years, that works out to about $500 per year in amortized purchase cost, plus $1,353 in annual dues, for a total annual cost of ownership around $1,853. A comparable cash-rate room at Wilderness Lodge runs $450 to $700 per night, so even a single 5-night trip per year through DVC saves you thousands compared to booking at the front desk.
How does the resale closing process work?
The typical closing timeline for Copper Creek resale is 45 to 60 days. After your offer is accepted, the contract is submitted to Disney for Right of First Refusal review, which takes up to 30 days. If Disney waives ROFR, a licensed title company handles the closing documents, and Disney transfers the membership and points into your account. Working with a licensed DVC resale broker ensures the entire process is handled properly and all Florida real estate requirements are met.
Why Buy Copper Creek DVC Resale
Copper Creek is one of the most sought-after DVC resorts on the resale market, and for good reason. It combines a long contract term (2068), one of the most beautiful resort settings at Walt Disney World, boat access to Magic Kingdom, and a diverse lineup of room types that includes the one-of-a-kind Cascade Cabins. For buyers who want a resort that will serve their family for decades, Copper Creek checks nearly every box.
The 2068 expiration is a major factor in Copper Creek's appeal. With over 42 years of remaining use, buyers are purchasing a genuine multi-generational asset. Parents buying today can reasonably expect their children to inherit and use the membership well into the 2060s. That kind of long-term value is difficult to find in the DVC system outside of the newest resorts.
From a cost perspective, Copper Creek resale contracts trade between $130 and $155 per point. That is significantly less than buying direct from Disney, where current pricing exceeds $225 per point. For a 150-point contract at $140 per point, the total purchase price is $21,000 plus closing costs and Disney's $500 administration fee. Annual dues at $9.02 per point add $1,353 per year. While Copper Creek is more expensive than budget options like Old Key West or Boulder Ridge, the longer contract term means you are paying less per year of ownership when you spread the cost over the full 42+ years.
The Cascade Cabins deserve special attention. These standalone waterfront units are unlike anything else in DVC. Private hot tub, screened-in porch, full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a deck overlooking Bay Lake. They cost a premium in points (300 to 400+ per week during peak season), but for families who want a truly unique Disney vacation experience, the cabins are worth the investment. Many of our buyers purchase larger Copper Creek contracts specifically to afford cabin stays at least once a year.
Copper Creek is unrestricted on the resale market, giving you full booking access at all 16 DVC resorts worldwide. You get your 11-month home resort priority at Wilderness Lodge and 7-month access to the entire system. This flexibility is valuable for families who like to rotate between different resorts across multiple trips.
Our brokerage has handled numerous Copper Creek transactions, and we know the ROFR patterns, the pricing sweet spots, and the timing strategies that help buyers close successfully.
