And the best part? No crazy crowds to deal with! This event is like Disney saying a big "thank you" to its most loyal fans by giving them a few hours of their own private theme park time. Here's the scoop on what's happening with Moonlight Magic in 2024.

 What Is Moonlight Magic?

Moonlight Magic is like a super special party just for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members. Only they get to join in! Imagine this: After everyone else leaves, DVC members get to go to a Disney park that's closed to the public. It's like having the whole park just for them to play around!

And guess what makes it awesome? Shorter lines for cool rides, meeting special characters, watching really cool shows, and even getting some free treats. It's like a magical night made just for DVC members! How cool is that?

Who Is Eligible To Join The Moonlight Event?

Wondering who can join in on the Moonlight Magic fun? Well, there are two times you can sign up; early registration and general registration. Early registration comes first and usually has more spots available. General registration happens a bit later, closer to the event.

Now, to sign up for either, you need to be eligible for Membership Extras (also known as “Blue Card” or “DVC-Y”). Being eligible means you either bought the required number of DVC points directly from Disney (which is currently 150 points) or got grandfathered in.

For early registration, you also need to have a qualifying stay using your DVC Membership at a Disney resort. Qualifying means you're either using your DVC points to stay at a Disney resort or paying through DVC Member Services to stay at a DVC resort. That's the deal to join the Moonlight Magic party!

What To Expect When You Register For Moonlight Magic?

Wondering what to expect when you register for Moonlight Magic?  Let's consider the things while getting registered for moonlight magic:

Registration Time: Registration usually kicks off at 11 am Eastern Time.

Notification: If you qualify for Moonlight Magic, you typically get an email the day before registration. If you miss the email, don't worry – our DVC Fan Facebook group usually shares the registration link.

Opening the Link: It's a good idea to open the link before 11 am. The exact time doesn't matter, just make sure it's before the clock strikes 11.

Random Queue Placement: At 11 am, everyone in the waiting room gets assigned a random spot in the queue. If you join after 11 am, you'll be at the end of the line.

Your Turn: When it's your turn, grab your DVC Membership Number. If you have multiple numbers, use the one linked to your Moonlight Magic reservation for early registration. For general registration, any number qualifying for Membership extras should do.

Select Attendees: Choose the DVC Member who's heading to Moonlight Magic (if you have multiple names on the contract) and tell them how many people will be there. The max is 5 unless your room reservation has more than 5 guests.

Eligibility

To attend Moonlight Magic, you need to be a Disney Vacation Club member and meet specific eligibility criteria, such as owning a certain number of DVC points or being grandfathered in.

Registration

Disney opens registration for Moonlight Magic on specific dates. There are usually two registration windows: an early registration window and a general registration window. Members must qualify for Membership Extras (like having the "Blue Card" or "DVC-Y") to register.

Email Notification or Shared Links

Eligible members typically receive an email a day before registration. In case you miss the email, the registration link is often shared in DVC community groups.

Opening the Link

It's recommended to open the registration link before the registration time, which is usually at 11 am Eastern Time.

Joining the Queue

At 11 am, everyone in the waiting room is randomly assigned a spot in the queue. Latecomers join at the end of the line.

Selecting Attendees

Choose the DVC Member attending and specify the number of people (up to 5, unless you have more guests on a room reservation).
